Amos Rele, professionally known as Moss Thriller is a Khayelitsha-based singer-songwriter and record producer.
Rele started writing poetry while in primary school but his focus shifted to writing songs when he was 14 years old. He started doing gigs at institutions like UCT and CPUT by 2009 and in 2015, moved to Joburg to pursue music professionally after having worked at Musica for three years, learning about music promotions and buying.
In 2016, after signing with a Pretoria-based record label, he was one of the main acts at the Moretele Hip Hop Festival which featured acts like Cassper Nyovest, Black Coffee, the late Riky Rick and Nasty C, to name a few.
Moss has collaborated with established acts including DJ Steve Group of Kalawa Jazmee, Blaklez, Just Bheki (Skhanda World), Assessa (AmaLevel) and more.
In 2017 and 2018, he was offered record deals by two major labels, but he said he declined the offers as he felt like he wanted something different for himself.
Other events that Moss has been involved in include Doek On Fliek festival and the BASA (Business Arts South Africa) launch party. Currently, Moss Thriller is working on a solo EP titled The Waiting Room as well as a collaborative project with Trey SA which is yet to be titled.
