Fresh off his recent Metro Music Award win, KO is teaming up with fibertime™ to launch The Sound of fibertime™ — a challenge aimed at discovering and shining a light on emerging musical talent across South Africa.

Aspiring musical talent aged 18 to 35 is invited to submit their original Sound of fibertime™ jingle for a chance to win access to professional studio sessions, creative training, and industry mentorship worth R150,000, in collaboration with Bridges for Music. This is your moment to be bold, bring the vibe, and shape the future sound of fibertime™.

KO has often voiced his thoughts on access and the doors it can open. Coming from a small town in Mpumalanga, KO had to make a move to Johannesburg to start his career in music: “Back in Piet Retief, I would’ve given anything to have a network of like-minded individuals I could bounce ideas off. Mentorship was also something I would have loved, but I had to pursue it elsewhere.”

“Now, those things are right at your fingertips, especially with the access fibertime™ is creating for communities like the one I grew up in. The world is smaller, and you can build a music career from wherever you are.”

The partnership with Bridges for Music is a natural fit. Known for their commitment to empowering young creators, they bring depth and credibility to the campaign. Winners will gain access to studio time, development programmes, and mentorship designed to sharpen their craft and shape their future in music.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of industry experts and campaign partners, including KO, fibertime™, and Bridges for Music. Entries will be judged on originality, creative quality, and alignment with the sound and spirit of fibertime™.
