The Western Cape is bracing for damaging winds and rough seas this weekend, with the South African Weather Service (SAWS) issuing a yellow level 4 warning linked to a cold front expected to make landfall on Friday.

The warning includes forecasts of strong gale force north-westerly winds along the Western Cape coastline. Conditions are expected to begin moderating from Saturday afternoon.

According to City disaster risk management spokesperson, Sonica Lategan, the weather could result in widespread disruption, especially in coastal areas and fire-prone zones.
