A young Langa man is giving credence to a popular adage that says “the apple does not fall far from the tree” as he stakes his claim in the musical scene.
Mpilontle Ralalala, who goes by the stage name ’DJ Soldier Akabambeki’ is the son of of the once globe-trotting songwriter, bass guitarist and saxophonist, Peter Ndlala.
“You could say I was born with music genes,” said the DJ whose is carving himself a niche in the world of gqom as a producer and performer.
DJ Soldier Akabambeki has been hailed as one of the best gqom producers you can find Cape Town.
“I am still young and far from reaching greatness but gauging by the fact that my music is being played throughout South Africa I am humbled by that,” he said.
Hard work supplemented by his talent is getting him noticed since he started making music in 2016.
This self-taught producer says it’s his passion for music that gives him the drive to climb the stage and live audiences crying for more.
DJ Soldier Akabambeki managed to come with his own style of gqom music and has been steadily building a fan base on online.
He prides himself on having shared the stage with the likes of the Distruction Boyz, Tarenzo Bathathe, Mr Thela, Bizza Wethu, DJ Chustar, Campmasters, Da Fresh, Athie, Blaqvision and DJ Kitso.
He has also performed live on television shows like Hectic Nine 9 and Hype It Up.
