Khanya Ngcwayi is enjoying the support for her new music.
Up-and-coming gospel artist Khanya Ngcwayi is set to take the gospel music industry by storm after releasing her debut EP album.
Ms Ngcwayi, who hails from Mandalay, said she had waited for a long time to release music as she started singing while she was still young.
She used her life experiences to write the songs because she wanted to use that as encouragement to other people who might be facing similar challenges.
She said when she lost her job and was unemployed there were times where hardships seemed to overcome her.
But she never gave up and believed that God would make a plan. Her songs carry messages of having faith and not giving up.
“There was a time where my sister had kidney failure and I donated my kidney to her and she survived. These are some of the things that assured me that if you live by faith nothing is impossible in life.
“I wrote the songs in this EP about these challenges which I have experienced and I want to let people know that if I managed to overcome them they can also defeat any of the challenges that they might be facing.
“I wrote these songs with the intention of uplifting anyone that might be facing some tough times,” she said.
Ms Ngcwayi, who is a preacher at a Methodist church, said choosing to sing gospel music was something that came naturally as she was raised by a Christian family.
She said the album has received an amazing reception and she appreciates the support.
The 41-year-old said in 1997 she formed a gospel youth group with her friends and that helped shape her love of praising and worshipping God through music.
