Writer and performer Sophie Joans’ one-woman play, Île, directed by Rob van Vuuren, has a final run at the Baxter’s Golden Arrow Studio from Tuesday May 2 to Saturday May 6 before it heads on an international tour.

It’s a coming-of-age story about mother-daughter relationships, and the search for self in our histories. After winning the Gold Standard Bank Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival in 2022, Île went on to be nominated for Best Actress at Woordfees and Best Performance in a Solo Show at the Fleur de Cap Theatre Awards.
