Radio newsreader by day and a sought-after club deejay by night… Umhlobo Wenene FM’s Bukiwe Zide has shown that she is a woman of many talents. And now the multi-talented star, popularly known as DJ Zeed, is riding the crest of a wave with her new single Beauty of Love.
It is a dream come true for DJ Zeed who hails from humble beginnings in the small rural town of Libode in the Eastern Cape.
Speaking to Vukani this week, she said she was on cloud nine after finally dropping the much-anticipated single. Featuring Master Dee, Wanda and Mr Vee Sholo, the song has got all the ingredients of a summer hit.
Although it is set to be officially launched on October 21, the song has been on high rotation in most Eastern Cape radio stations and DJ Zeed said she couldn’t be happier.
“I really appreciate the love from my fans. The song is out on iTunes and people have been giving positive feedback. I can’t wait to get people dancing this festive,” she said.
DJ Zeed said she started deejaying in 2010 but at the time being a newsreader was keeping her very busy.
In 2017 she started polishing her deejaying skills and officially introduced herself as DJ Zeed.
She said Beauty of Love cautions people about not being hung up in their past relationships.
