Nestled above the dramatic cliffs of West Vancouver’s Eagle Harbor neighborhood, this home offers an unforgettable blend of nostalgia, modernity, and breathtaking views. Designed by Falken Reynolds, the renovation of this 1975 property beautifully balances vibrant art, sculptural furniture, and mid-century influences, creating a home that feels like a warm embrace at the end of a busy day.

The property’s standout feature is its stunning position overlooking the waters of the Burrard Inlet, with sweeping views of Passage Island and Bowen Island. As part of a thoughtful, sustainable renovation, two previous additions were reworked, and the layout transformed to allow the home's interior to flow effortlessly for both casual living and entertaining.

For the homeowner, an avid traveller who treasures her time in nature, this renovation was about more than just aesthetics – it was about creating a space that resonated with the life she envisioned. "She loved the soul of the house," say interior designers Chad Falkenberg and Kelly Reynolds, "and was clear about how she wanted to live here."

The interior design team embraced this vision by curating a space where the bold and eclectic art collection could truly shine. The design strategy focused on warm, sensual hues and layered materials that evoke a sense of calm and sophistication. From the natural hardwood floors to vintage lighting, every detail has been carefully chosen to enhance the home’s soul while also offering a sense of effortless luxury.

A key feature of the space is the new, curved marble fireplace – a subtle nod to the home’s original charm. Although the previous onyx fireplace was removed to improve the view, the onyx was preserved and repurposed to enhance the new design, proving how sustainable renovation can respect both the home’s history and its future.

One of the most inviting elements of this home is its vibrant, sculptural furniture. Bold colours and forms inspired by the 1970s combine with contemporary pieces like the Tactile sofa by Baxter, imbuing the space with comfort and character. The striking design is anchored by a carefully selected material palette that includes warm Corian countertops, bronzed glass accents, and textural elements like reclaimed tiles that echo the home’s history.

Throughout the house, glass details create a sense of transparency, inviting light to flood the space. The translucent bronzed glass stair guard adds elegance without obstructing the view, while the open-plan design ensures every room captures the stunning vistas of the surrounding nature.

This home isn’t just a place to live – it’s an experience that connects the homeowner to the art and environment she loves. Whether you're lounging in the airy living room, cooking in the spacious kitchen with Miele appliances, or soaking up the serene atmosphere of the primary bedroom, the house envelops you in a welcoming warmth.
