1st Portland Girl Guides who form part of the Silversands District, celebrated Thinking Day on Friday February 21 at their meeting place in Portland. Over 21 000 members of Girl Guides South Africa wore their uniforms on Friday to raise awareness and promote international friendship, honouring founders Lord Robert Baden-Powell and his wife, Lady Olave Baden-Powell. This year also marks the 115th anniversary of the movement’s founding in 1910. Girls guides meet on Friday afternoon from 4.30pm to 6pm.
