Banned From The Land will perform on Sunday March 23 at Guga S'thebe Arts and Culture Centre,in Langa, at 4pm.
Amandla Akhona and Xhanti Nokwali make up the duo who are redefining traditional African music with their innovative urban folk genre.
They have a unique blend of ukombela, umxhentso, jazz, and contemporary influences, using indigenous instruments, contemporary rhythms, and poignant storytelling.
As part of their I'm With The Banned tour, this performance serves as a fundraising effort to support the recording of their debut EP, scheduled for release in April.
The tour's name pays tribute to the brave South Africans who have fought tirelessly for equality and land rights.
