Langa library will host a fund-raiser to put the spotlight on challenges facing the community, on Saturday April 5, from 8.30am to noon.
The event themed; Celebrate and Support Local is organised by Friends of Langa Library (FOLL), a volunteer entity whose mission is to encourage community members to make use of the library and ensure that the library is well-resourced.
The aim of the event is to bring the community together to discuss the challenges of hunger, illiteracy, environmental awareness and other issues.
FOLL has invited the author of Thrive, Andile Sigasana to share some ideas from his book on financial literacy and management.
Also on the panel is Mzi Mshicela from Langa Agrihub who will speak on issues of collectives.
As the global economy has moved to 5 IR and Artificial Intelligence, they have partnered with Edunova, a Langa NPO dealing with digital training which will be presenting their latest programme called AI Fluency, which seeks to create awareness on Artificial Intelligence knowledge.
Zimsto Eroofini from Bridges Academy will keep the crowds on their feet with her sounds. On sale will be refreshments, books, DVDs and CDs at affordable prices. With every sale the patrons stand a chance to win a prize. Entry is free.
