Three government department officials left their offices on Friday morning to meet residents who used their services.
Sinethemba Community Project founder Nolitha Ndalasi said they invited the Department of Home Affairs, Sassa and City Health Department officials to explain their services.
"Our people have challenges in accessing the services because they lack information, so by bringing the service providers here, they were able to explain how they work," said Ndalasi.
Santo Mohopelao from Home Affairs said there were long lines at the offices every day but he was happy because his staff strived to help clients.
"Our staff often go out to teach people how to apply for Identity Documents and other services needed from the department," said Mohopelao.
Nono Mpetha from Sassa urged the residents to bring proper documentation when visiting their offices for grant applications. She said there was a big drive to help people register for the new Sassa.
The City's Health Department did health checks at the event to help people know their health status.
Ndalasi said they would invite more departments to the area.
"People need information," she said.
