ComUnity Festival returns on Saturday April 26 at the Ostrich Ranch located along the N7.
In celebration of Freedom Day, the 12-hour showcase unites leading musical talent, cutting-edge fashion, and local cuisine to honor democracy, freedom, and the country’s rich culture.
The festival makes its debut at The Ostrich this year, transitioning from its longtime home at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock.
“Our mission goes beyond entertainment. We’re creating a cultural playground where young people can freely express themselves, network, and elevate each other,” says Vincent Manzini, co-founder of ComUnity.
The 2025 line-up boasts a powerhouse musical showcase headlined by multi-award-winning, platinum-selling hip-hop icon Cassper Nyovest, SAMA-winning producer and DJ MORDA (of the acclaimed duo Black Motion famed for their Afro-house artistry), and the rapidly rising Scotts Maphuma — whose fusion of soulful vocals and Amapiano rhythms has garnered a dedicated following. Beyond these marquee acts, festival-goers can dive into an eclectic mix of sounds spanning everything from gqom and deep house to experimental electronic, Afro-pop, and alternative R&B.
“Looking forward to my first ever community performance! I’ve been aware of the significance of the event to our culture and now being part of it makes it special. I’m excited for the energy and an overall great time,” says Cassper Nyovest.
Fashion enthusiasts can expect a bold showcase of fresh, daring designs straight from Mzansi’s rising designers. There will be food stalls inspired by emerging local culinary creators like Umlilo and Smoked by Buys. Tickets cost from R300 and are available through Quicket.
