The community of Langa is reeling in shock after a constable stationed at Bishop Lavis police station was discovered dead in her vehicle with gunshot wound on Saturday, May 3.
According to provincial SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa, the 31-year-old constable, who lived in Kraaifontein, was in her own car parked close to a primary school in Bennie Street.
She was off-duty and was heading to an evening church service in Langa.

Brigadier Potelwa said Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) detectives have initiated a murder investigation with no arrests have been made.
When Vukani arrived at the scene around 11am, the policewoman's body had not yet been removed. Shocked neighbours had gathered nearby.
Langa Community Policing Forum (CPF) chairperson, Alfred Magwaca, expressed concern about the shooting and called on law enforcement agencies to play an active role in the fight against crime.
He said residents and police officers have a responsibility to ensure there is peace and safety within their communities.
He described the incident as horrific and said he failed to understand why someone would kill a harmless person.
One resident, who refused to share their identity, said they heard gunshots and everyone ran for cover.
