Maskandi musician Mphathi Wohlelo staged the Maskandi music festival at the Thusong Hall in Khayelitsha on Saturday, June 14.
Maskandi is a genre of Zulu folk music that originated in rural KwaZulu-Natal.
The festival featured a lineup of games and activities, meant to bring people closer and highlight the spirit of the community. Residents took part in challenges and competitions at the event.\
