Senior citizens were treated to brunch, food parcels, vegetables, shoes, and clothes in Summer Greens on Nelson Mandela Day, Friday, July 18.
They were hosted by non-government organisations (NGOs) Siphekela Isizwe Empowerment and Feeding Scheme, which received support from God's Girls South Africa - Foundation for Elderly Care, gas supplier and distributor companies.
The feeding scheme brought together the elderly from Joe Slovo in Langa, Phoenix in Milnerton, and Summer Greens, where the NGOs operate as well.
