Local animation company, Toony Animation is calling for applications for its free six-month animation programme which starts this month.
The programme, which runs from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm, from Monday October 16 to Friday March 29 next year, will teach participants the skills they need to create animated content. Classes will be held in Observatory.
The course will cover a wide range of topics, including animation principles and techniques, character design, storyboarding, background design, digital ink and paint, and professional conduct.
“The intensive programme is open to youth over the age of 18 years, people with disabilities, women and those that have artistic merit but have had very little or no formal training in art,” said facilitator and Toony founder Garth Sanders.
“The programme’s intentions are to provide skills in digital art and animation to the selected participants and for them to use those skills to generate revenue for themselves.”
No prior experience in animation is required.
