Gugulethu resident Tumelo Pudumo celebrated his 40th birthday in style with a party at Sochilla African Cuisine last Thursday.
Surrounded by the faces of long-time friends, beloved family and the media, the party was not only a celebration of his birthday but served to cap a stellar year of partnership between the artist and a Parisian cognac.
The community builder, DJ and a businessman is one of the most recognisable figures in the entertainment industry and his business has been commanding dance floors and helping the needy by delivering shoes, sanitary towels and mostly mentoring young people who want to be in the entertainment world.
Through his Nala Mentorship programme, aspiring artists receive guidance on music understanding, business acumen, brand positioning, and the opportunity to train at a partnered music school.
“While birthdays are traditionally a time for celebration, it is important to recognise that true celebration should be accompanied by meaningful action. Our society, especially our youth, face numerous challenges and often lack proper guidance. Every celebration has the power to positively impact a child’s life, and I am leveraging my birthday to drive a mission of upliftment and inspiration. I’m fortunate to have a network of like-minded individuals who share this vision and are willing to sit down and engage in this noble cause,” said the man affectionately known by his community as TP.
