Mfuleni gospel artist Zolisa Mficane shared the stage with a number of other artists, including two from Brazil at his first show.
The Levite Zolisa Mficane International Gospel concert, which was held at the African Gospel Church in Khayelitsha on Saturday May 7, featured Sizeka Bangiso, Fezani Mdladlamba, Apostle Frederico Hendricks, Avuyile, Ludaka, Andrew Peterson, Zolisa Mgwayi, Pastor David Rodrigo and Santos Rodrigo both from Brazil.
Most of the songs Zolisa performed were from his album, Nxasi semthandazweni, but he also sang some of his new material.
“It was a great new experience,” he told Vukani after the show.
“I am excited but I feel there is room for improvement. This is a new beginning for me. My hope is that one day I have a bigger concert.”
He said he loves gospel music and had always wanted to sing.
“I have always wanted to create a space for people to come and have fun while worshipping. This show has opened my eyes on how to do things. But I am truly grateful even to the artists that came and supported me. Now that restrictions are being lifted, I hope we will have more of this kind (of events) with people. I had fun and people had fun. This was an unforgettable experience for me,” he added.
Pastor David Rodrigo from Brazil gave a motivational talk to the audience.
