Mop up operations are underway across the city following cold front which made landfall last night.
Disaster Risk Management officials have completed assessments in RR Section in Site B, Kosovo, Marcus Garvey in Philippi and Kanana in Gugulethu.
The Informal Settlements Department will provide residents in the affected areas with flood kits and transport will provide sand milling.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has been requested to provide humanitarian assistance.
The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management spokesperson Charlotte Powell said despite the heavy rain and flooding that occurred in informal settlements across the city, no evacuation to emergency shelters was required.Â
