Pads for primary school

The Mtonga Foundation donated 93 packs of menstrual pads to Isiphiwo Primary School in Khayelitsha last Friday. The organisation’s founder, Professor Phindile Vuyo Mtonga, far left, said he wanted to make sure that girls did not miss school because of their periods. He said fathers should talk openly with their daughters, and boys should be discouraged from teasing girls having their periods as it was “part of their lives”. School principal Thulani Mxhalise said the donation would help girls stay in school.
