Turning a pen into a zip gun - as shown by a video that has been circulating on WhatsApp safety groups - can lead to serious injury and death, warn the police.
"SAPS is aware of a video of a person discharging ammunition from a pen. However the origin of the video is still unknown,“ said provincial police spokesman Sergeant Wesley Twigg.
“We appeal to members of the public to refrain from making homemade devices that can cause serious injury and/or death to another person.”
