Vanessa Gravel, Gugulethu
When I reported this to the police, they did not even bother coming so I went to our neighborhood watch. They were so supportive and listened to my story.
I could not believe what they did afterwards.
Two days later, they caught the guy who had stolen my dog and they made him take it back to where he had stolen it.
They made him confess and he apologised. He also vowed never to come to our area.
My dog was returned to me and I was so happy. I have nothing to thank them for their efforts, however I would like everybody to know about our unsung heroes.
We walk safely every morning to the bus stops because they are always there. When I leave I know my dogs are safe because they are always there when we need them.
I cannot thank them enough. We need more people like this in our communities.
