Liyema Zumani fends off Jordan Vaughn during the weekend encounter between Blue Jets and Gardens.
Blue Jets RFC have a chance to get back in the winning column this weekend when they visit Strand United for their Super League C encounter on Saturday.
They will face a side also eager to get their season on track, having won only one of their opening five games, compounded by the added pressure of playing at home.
In their seven games, Blue Jets have registered three wins.
This past weekend, they hosted Gardens RFC and found the going tougher than expected, falling short with a 13-31 loss.
Despite the defeat, they crossed the try line twice, while allowing Gardens five tries. Sikho Mqongozi scored eight of the 13 points for Blue Jets, with a try and a penalty, while Luyanda Sodinga added another try for the Khayelitsha side.
The rest of the weekend’s Super League C action saw league leaders Macassar maintaining their 100% win record for the season after beating Busy Bees 38-12.
Atlantis made light work of Surrey Estate Rangers with a 53-15 scoreline, and Young Peoples beat Strand United 34-3 for their fifth win in seven games, keeping close to the top of the log.
