Sibulele Soboois could end what has been an eventful 2025 on a high, with a title belt at home if things go the way they have been this year. 'Lova' turned professional just a year ago and 2025 has easily been her most active and successful year in the paid ranks.
She has already recorded three impressive victories this year, taking her professional record to 4-0 and now has a chance to close out the year with championship gold.

Later this month she will travel to Gqeberha to challenge another unbeaten fighter, Sibabalwe Gwebityala, for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Africa female junior-flyweight title.
Both boxers bring identical 4-0 records into the fight, setting up what promises to be a thrilling showdown between two of South Africa’s brightest rising stars in women’s boxing.
Soboois, who is based in Khayelitsha, has already proven her ability to handle different environments, having fought all over the country in her short career.

Her most recent outing came at home, where she earned a points decision over Zizo Skoti in Wynberg. Before that, she claimed victory in Kempton Park against Leeann Jansen van Vuuren, while her first two pro bouts were staged in Kimberley.
That experience on the road will come in handy when she steps into the ring in Gqeberha for her first title shot. A multiple-time South African amateur champion, Soboois trains under Welsh Macibela at 9Sai Boxing Club and continues to prove why she’s one of the country’s top female prospects.
This year she also joined hands with ML Boxing management where Matt Leisching handles her boxing affairs outside the ring.
