Yolanda Veyi was awarded Best Player of the Year during the Winnie Ladies FC end-of-year awards ceremony at the Gugulethu Sports Complex this past weekend.
The club was in a celebratory mood after reaching two cup finals this year and winning one of them. It felt only fitting to host a special gathering to honour the hard work and commitment their players have shown throughout the season.

Winnie Ladies clinched the Women’s Day Under-16 tournament in Strandfontein after defeating Westridge in a tightly contested final. Their second final, hosted by Golden United, ended in disappointment when they went down 1–0 to FN Rangers, but the team remained proud of the effort displayed.
The club hosted the ceremony in the hope that it would inspire their young players toward an even more successful 2026 campaign. They also emphasised that every achievement is the result of strong support from the coaching staff and dedicated parents who share the club’s vision for something bigger and brighter in the years ahead.
