The Gareth Ncaca Foundation’s under-20 youth tournament came to an exciting conclusion with Cape Town Roses and FC Porto crowned the champions, at the Langa sports complex, on Human Rights Day, Tuesday March 21.
Cape Town Roses trailed 1-0 at half-time. They came out guns blazing in the second half, determined to win the Norman Ncaca Cup. They managed to beat Dangerous Heroes 4-2 in the final of the women’s section.
FC Porto, from Philippi, scored an early goal to lead Hanley FC, from Gqeberha, at the end of the first half. They won by 2-0 to be crowned the Gareth Ncaca Foundation’s men’s under-20 champions.
The top goal scorer and the player of the tournament came from Hanley FC. The goalkeeper of the tournament came from Porto and the coach of the tournament came from Khayelitsha’s Y2K College FC.
