Money Heist FC were crowned the winners of the Kasi Festive Games at Brown’s Farm in Philippi earlier this month.
Since the local football season concluded last month across the city, a couple of footballers from Philippi got together to start the Kasi Festive Games.
The Kasi Festive Games is a combination of amateur and semi-professional footballers that are keeping in shape during the off season.
Some notable matches in the early stage of the Kasi Festive Games include the match between Money Heist and Game Yethu. After some end to end action, the match ended goalless.
KFC FC beat Magesi FC 2-1. Afterwards, Sea Robbers and Ingomso Sporting played to a 10-goal thriller, with victory going to Sea Robbers after a 9-1 scoreline.
The semi-finals would perhaps bring nerves on the amateur and semi-professional footballers, but they went about their business professionally.
Money Heist beat Sea Robbers 2-1 in the first semi-final. Game Yethu got the better of KFC FC with two unanswered goals.
The new soccer champions, Money Heist beat Game Yethu 2-1 in the final.
