Busy Bees Rugby Football Club’s women’s team beat CPUT 12-0 in a Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) women’s quarter-final knockout clash, at City Parks, on Saturday, August 31.
Busy Bees’ chairman, Siyabonga Hani said it was a physical game with CPUT displaying great form.
At the end of the match, he gave full credit to his team for their fighting spirit throughout the season.
“It was a physical game. We knew they would eventually run out of gas in the second half and they did just that,” said Hani.
“With more competition like this, they will get stronger. From our side our girls were composed and the subs did their job coming in opening gaps in the fringes for our scrummy to do her magic,” he said.
Busy Bees’ next task will be against Brackenfell, in the WPRFU semi-finals, at City Parks, on Saturday September 14.
“We have a fair balance of experience and new blood and look forward to the next game... The goal is to win the championship and play Champ of Champs in October,” said Hani.
