More than 500 young players, aged eight to 14, from communities including Langa, Khayelitsha, Mitchell’s Plain, Gugulethu, Constantia and Ocean View, hit the sand and surf at last week’s 34th annual Sporting Chance Calypso Cricket Festival, held at Muizenberg’s Sunrise Beach.
The festival was held in honour of Sporting Chance founder, the late Brad Bing, whose vision for Calypso Cricket has empowered more than 90 000 children since it began in 1991.
